The ethics thing is just sad. Why pretend we care about investigating ethics when such measures would even further weaken the function? We seem to have collectively forgotten how the TOPS program ballooned beyond all predictions from a cost standpoint and why pretend we are going to have public education if we're not? Oh, yes, we're the great pretenders... (you have to be old to get this paraphrasing reference).

With regard to Catholic schools, it's interesting that under current orders from the Pope once a teacher marries a person of the same sex, that teacher will be fired. Thus even under a program diminished by the Legislature because of budget constraints, Landry's system would force the gay citizens of this state to participate in the financing of their own discrimination and oppression.

His voucher bill is to benefit the church schools and ever church has or will want their own school.
