When the truth is found to be lies

And all the joy within you dies

Don't you want somebody to love

Don't you need somebody to love

Wouldn't you love somebody to love

You better find somebody to love

Love, love [Jefferson Airplane, 1967]

Substitute "hate" for "love" and you have 2024. The 60s were a generation of hope for a better, in all senses, world. Can we ever find that hope again?

The transgender issue is an attempt by the GOP to get traction from the culture war after losing on the abortion issue. It isn't working. Trump has no issue to run on, save hatred and bigotry.

You have no idea how much better I feel right now. Every single time these ads come on, in my area it is to slam Harris and Colin Allred - Cruz is using these too - my blood boil level rises.

For one it is a 🐂 💩 lie with how it is represented and with the voice over added. The newest of them is with the outtakes of Charlemagne the God’s radio show. Snips of their show are added together to make it sound like they are throwing Harris under the bus, which isn’t true at all.

To see the numbers on these of what the public feels when seeing these political ads is promising. I am so glad people are seeing through this for what it is - just another way to stoke hatred of something different.

Hopefully, one day, these ads will be outlawed. First amendment speech should never cover outright lies, hate or bigotry.

I have to disagree with you about banning the ads for the same reason I never liked banning Trump from social media. Let the bigots expose themselves and dig their own graves.

I agree they should be free to reveal bigotry and general hate, despite the fact they appeal to far too many people.. However, I do believe the ability to spout absolute lies should be curtailed. The Fairness Doctrine may not have been perfect, but it did tamp this ability down. The only thing doing so now are lawsuits that are expensive and should be unnecessary.

I agree about the lies. That needs to stop.
