Could you please make calling lawmakers easy by listing phone numbers for us? I want national, not state officials.

Thank you and many thanks for your thoughtful newsletter.

Hi Bob, my letter to the LSU Board (telling them to grow a spine and defend Professor Bryner) sent in early December last year probably violated one or two of the tenets stated in this issue of "Something Like the Truth." I'll try to do better next time; maybe get someone else to do a sanity check and some editing before sending!

Thanks and I just ordered "Sunshine" dedicated to my parents. I think I mentioned it before, they have a signed copy of his earlier book. A warm memory just floated through my mind, from a minister in Richland Parish (1960's) a farmer, "the two greatest men that ever lived was Jesus Christ and Huey Long".

Thanks Bob for reminding me not to be a Cou Rouge when interacting with the pseudo Cou Rouge Senator.

You are commended for speaking at the nursing homes and assisted living facilities!

Message I sent to Cassidy on his website a few minutes ago shortly after he voted to send Kennedy's nomination to the senate:

Just watched you not even blink your eyes as you voted to send Kennedy's nomination to the senate(please note the little s, no longer deserves capitalization). Wanted to congratulate you on confirmation that you have now officially sold your soul. You're a doctor(again no longer deserving capitalization) for God's sake, but I guess the important thing is the continuous battle to get re-elected.

I would say that you're the worst of 2 really bad senators from Louisiana but I do have to put you an eyelash ahead of Kennedy because at least you don't use that cornpone act whenever a camera points at you.

I suspect you have probably never missed a moment of sleep for all of the things you have failed to do for your constituents.

Then this occurred 2 days later:

Was talking with the members of our little Commie, Pinko Coffee Klatch yesterday morning about senator Cassidy of our great state. Larry fussed at me over being so pissed about his vote the other morning on RFK jr.

Larry said it was merely a case of doctor Cassidy mistaking his Hippocratic Oath that he took when he became a doctor with his hypocritical one that he swore to as a senator.

Probably the best off the cuff bon mot that I have heard in quite a while.
