Some people with whom I have asked their opinion of their US Senator have described him to me as an ignoramus. I don’t think of him as an ignoramus but every time I have had the misfortune of watching him interrogate witnesses testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, I cringe that he is allowed to abuse witnesses so badly. I don’t judge the man as an ignoramus but I believe that he absolutely loves acting like an ignoramus while interrogating witnesses on TV. Shame on him!
Senator Foghorn Leghorn is actually more anti-American than the Arab-Americans and 'Communists' he attacks! None of the so-called Hamas and Hezbollah sympathizers/supporters and Communist-linked people he attacks ever advocated or voted to nullify legitimate votes of millions of Americans in January 2021! The unbridled and apparently limitless hypocrisy (when it comes to who loves and hates America) is sickening and maddening! As a Louisianan, I'm embarrassed that we collectively voted for him in 2022 given at least two other far better candidates on the same ballot.
As you say, those of us who knew him before his transformation to Senator Beauregard Claghorn (believed to be the inspiration for Foghorn Leghorn and a fictional character, though not a cartoon) knew a different John Neely Kennedy. Whether he actually changed or is putting on an act only he knows, but either way he has become reprehensible. Lots of luck getting through to him on the phone or via email and I sincerely doubt whatever intern you do communicate with even makes a note of your concern. I guess he sees the jokes made of him on late night TV as positive in that they keep him on radar as a spokesperson for hate politics - and there are an unfortunate number of people who engage in, support and enjoy it.
I hear a lot of folks say that Senator Kennedy is intelligent and that he was much more reasonable in the past; may have been, but certainly that is not the case now. Intelligence can be measured in many ways, but a lack of emotion maturity and a failure to exercise intellectual honesty negates innate intelligence and educational achievement. Kennedy like Vance and Trump are hollow men. They have no, ethical or moral substance and certainly should not be trusted with leading our democracy. Having just seen a clip of Kennedy's disgusting treatment of one of our citizens. He should be censured for what amounts to hate speech. Start that process Chuck. Absolutely unacceptable Senator Kennedy; you should be ashamed.
I remember when he was in La. Legislature we thought he resembled Randy Quaid from Christmas vacation. He acted like him, so maybe that is where he learned to be so eloquent. He is playing to a really dangerous group here in La., but there is a bigger audience of Center Right Republicans who never admit being wrong. Period.
