It can’t be said that you did not, in good faith, try to help him, Bob.

There is still a way to save his reputation and a future for him, even politically, but only outside the Republican crime syndicate.

That’s actually a pretty amazing situation, considering how far he’s obviously been willing to stoop to fit in with the cool kids.

Didn’t we learn this in elementary school? Didn’t our parents teach us not to abandon our principles, even if it means you walk alone?

Mine did. I bet Cassidy’s did too.

It is tragic to see an individual who has done so much good in promoting health over decades catering to individuals such as Landry and Trump who have damaged public health.

I will be calling Cassidy’s office to urge him to pull members of Congress together to pressure Trump to fire Kennedy. Seems like a long shot, but every call matters

There is no room for doubt. It is official: Jeff Landry is a piece of s*it, and Bill Cassidy is a flip-flopping waste of an excuse of a senator. BOTH of them need to be gone soon. And RFK jr? Send him to wherever that whale carcass ended up at.

Love the picture; wonder how persuading our Senator will find the alternative of saving lives. (I hope I have to slap my wrist for writing that.)

Cassidy will hold onto hope until the results of the primary next year. He thinks he has a chance to win, and will until he doesn’t. Don’t expect him to do anything that doesn’t appeal to the MAGA base until he either faces reality or loses the primary. After that? If he’s decided he’s done with politics, if he decides that as a lame duck he owes nothing to Trump for not blessing him, if the Ghosts of Christmas visit him in his sleep, maybe he’ll grow a spine.

Maybe?

Landry is an ass who suffers from "trump wannabe syndrome". Cassidy is not a shoo in for re-election but I have to give him credit for this....the one time he wasn't trying to kiss up to his maga cohorts.

Agree, Cassidy has no chance to be re-elected(yet admittedly my predictions have often been wrong). He could, however, exercise power and serve the people of our country by using his vote on every single issue to do what is best for our children and grandchildren. Otherwise, step aside and please “do no harm”.

"Both Sides Bill" lost everyone when he said the "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval". I'm sure he was just hoping to get a soundbite on Fox News like our other clown senator.

He's between a rock and a hard place--he can't lie convincingly enough for Republicans politicians, and he doesn't tell the truth enough to be 100% faithful to his Hippocratic Oath.

It often amazes me how many sayngs and cliches I acquired in my childhood. There seems to be at least one appropriate for every occasion. The first one that popped into my head when reading this piece was "there is no honor among thieves." Cassidy would have been so much better served (and serving of his state and country) had he adhered to what he knew was right. Sometimes playing politics doesn't pay.
